Center for Equitable Policy in a Changing World

EPCW is proud to have participated in the Project Dreams mentoring program for young scholars who are interested in STEM and STEAM education.  The purpose of the program is to familiarize students with the application of the scientific method and to working with experienced researchers and methodologies in fields such as biology, neuroscience, public health, epidemiology, and public promotion and interpretation of science.

The pipeline readies high school students to participate and excel in state, regional and national science fairs.  This year, Paul Duval of Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy (McDonough, GA) won first place at the 2025 Georgia Science Fair for his project related to generating energy from an invasive weed: kudzu. A key pillar of Project Dreams is to infuse social responsibility as an integral practice in science research.

EPCW collaborated with Dr. Rihana Mason, the co-founder of Project Dreams. Dr. Mason, a research scientist at Georgia State University, is also co-founder of the Academic Pipeline Project, LLC. Academic Pipeline Project assists faculty, students and educational institutions in creating academic and career success.
